A countdown to Valentine’s day and the many moods it sets us in: Madly in Love.
The second playlist I will be sharing with you is for all you lovers out there, just starting out on your journey with your partner, or have been looking into their eyes with the same adoration after so many years.
It’s the fluttery feeling of excitement in your stomach. The smile you inevitably break into when you think of them, when they walk in the room, when they send you a message that they are thinking of you too. It’s the little skip in your step when you walk, because your heart is so full. It’s the elated feeling that keeps you going through otherwise mundane, draining things — but you are not aware of the banality of any of them, because you are full of love. It is the beginning of something pure, the “honeymoon stage” as they call it. And as the playlist goes on, it is also a reminder that your person is here, when the going gets tough. And a reminder to never take them for granted.
The playlist is filled with legends from the past like Etta James, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and many more. There are also modern artists like John Legend, Norah Jones, Ms. Lauryn Hill and so on, and so forth. The songs range from smooth Jazz, to beautiful Blues-like melodies, to soft-Rock.
A very special addition to this collection of songs is one from a very talented artist: New Jersey-based Tara Giancaspro, stage name Sweaty Lamarr, I have Always Been in Love with You.

A love ballad about a fleeting love story, included in this playlist as a reminder that love is not always easy, not always so rosy, and at times ephemeral. But the feelings don’t go away so easily. You can be hung up on that person as long as your heart demands it — for when the love runs deep, it is hard to let go.
