HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

You guys didn’t think I was gonna let my single pringles wallow in self-pity on a day where everyone is striving to make you feel like shit, did you? Absolutely not.

While love is grand in all its shapes and forms, there are times when being in love gets you in trouble, and the need for a relationship leads to dangerous situations where you realise: damn, I’m better left alone.

And even when you find yourself enjoying the single life, people find it fitting to point out flaws in it you weren’t even aware of. Because, for some reason, Single Hood is a borough no one in their right minds would want to stay in for too long.

But whose to say it isn’t?

Being alone is certainly not a bad thing. Sure, it gets lonely at times, but that is not specific to people who aren’t in romantic relationships. Being by yourself often means you get to open up to a world that would have been otherwise unavailable to you, if you were tangled up in someone else. Being by yourself often means you get to find out that you are actually great company — something you have been led to believe is not true. Being by yourself opens you up to a plethora of experiences, options, and opportunities that are yours for the taking. Being by yourself often means you get to lick your wounds, and grow into a person who knows their worth. So do your hair toss, check your nails, and baby tell me you’re feelin’ GOOD AS HELL.

A playlist to feel yourself to; post-breakup, during a night out with your friends, or when you just need to feel good about yourself when the world has been too heavy on those beautiful shoulders.
