LOST TOURISTS, Asking for Directions EP:

Earlier this year, the Montreal-based trio Lost Tourists released a new single titled “Sudden Clarity.”

A breezy melody to perfectly pair with a sunny day, “Sudden Clarity” will get you smiling from ear-to-ear at just how simple life is.

Fast forward a few months later, on 29 July, the trio released their debut EP Asking for Directions encompassing all three for their singles, “Break Thru” ; “Glued to You” and “Sudden Clarity.”

ALBUM ARTWORK: Pamela Andonian.

Fitting to their band name of Lost Tourists, Asking for Directions gives you a peak into the type of music these three have in store for you.

The album flows wonderfully with “Break Thru” as the first single, with groovy beats coupled with lyrics of loss, confusion, irritability about being stuck in a situation they need to break out from.

Which is followed by, possibly, the reason for the artists’ predicament and need to break free, as “Glued to You” talks about an attachment towards a love lost. The music is very evocative of Alternative Rock music from the early 2000s, such as 3 Doors Down and Green Day. Feelings of angst, and sorrow will get you feeling inner turmoils you didn’t think were still there.

And tying everything together is the final song, “Sudden Clarity” where the same vocalists who has been singing of feelings of entrapment, sadness and dread “suddenly” realize an easier, simpler, and more positive way to look at life. Reminding the listener that in spite of the difficulties life throws your way, you can still find alternative, clearer ways to look at them.

Lost Tourists are a Montreal-based trio made up of guitarist Kevork Boyadjian, bassist Saro Hart, and Noah Cohen-Wanis on drums. Making music since 2019, and drawing inspiration from artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tame Impala, and Rush (amongst others), Lost Tourists intend to send you adrift with their songs, to be as lost in sound as they are.

MARY JEANS, “Just a Phase.”

On 12 August, Mary Jeans released her newest single, “Just a Phase” — a sensual pop track that will get you moving without a care in the world.

SINGLE COVER ART by Audré Vini.

Rare are the break-up songs where one finds themselves on a groovy journey, shaking their hips and feeling their oats.

A song to remind one to take care of one’s self, when a relationship didn’t live up to the full potential it could have. When time alone reminds one’s self that it is better to be on one’s own than to be in a passionless coupling with no desire, and no excitement. We’ve all had those moments when we think of how luscious the single life would be if we just leave a situation that brings us more misery than happiness.

It’s just a phase you know what I mean
The passion you gave me wasn’t enough

MARY JEANS is an up-and-coming pop artist who emerged in 2019 after releasing her debut single, “Stumbled.” With a mix of soul, blues, and pop, she strives to relate her personal experiences through her songs. Bilingual, she sings in both French and English and has managed to shine in the Montreal music scene due to her captivating stage presence and strong vocals.
